Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk was involved in a conference call Monday between reporters and players from the NHL's Atlantic Division where he gave an update on two teammates who tested positive for COVID-19 following the suspension of league play. According to Tkachuk, all members of the team have been staying in constant contact and the two who tested positive are "doing well."

So far, four NHL players have contracted the novel Corona Virus that we know of; two members of the Sens and two players with the Colorado Avalanche. Ottawa radio colour commentator Gord Wilson also tested positive. The Senators played in San Jose against the Sharks on March 7th despite a warning from officials in Santa Clara County against holding large public gatherings. The Colorado Avalanche also played at SAP Center in San Jose the following night.

The interesting part about the call was that reporters had to submit questions in advance and Tkachuk was only asked one question about COVID-19 despite being on one of just two teams to be directly impacted by the virus. Questions were asked by members of the NHL's public relations staff.

Other players involved in the call included Toronto Maple Leafs captain John Tavares, Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara, Montreal Canadiens captain Shea Weber and Detroit Red Wings centre Dylan Larkin.
