Per general manager John Chayka, the Arizona Coyotes have re-signed forward Michael Chaput to a one-year, two-way contract.

Chaput, 27, has spent most of his time in the AHL with the Tucson Roadrunners this season, amassing 29 points in 47 games. He has played two games with the Coyotes as well, failing to register a point. The career journeyman has played a total of 169 career NHL games split between the Columbus Blue Jackets, Vancouver Canucks, Montreal Canadiens, and of course the Coyotes. In those 169 games, he has put up six goals and 22 points.

Chaput was a former Philadelphia Flyers draft pick, being selected in the third round of the 2010 draft. He was drafted out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he put up a total of 187 points over four seasons. Though he will likely not be a regular player for the Coyotes next season, he is a nice depth piece for them to keep in case of any injuries.
