The Colorado Avalanche announced Friday that they've come to terms on a two-year contract with defenseman Jacob MacDonald.

MacDonald, 27, was acquired from the Florida Panthers organization, playing in the team's AHL affiliate Springfield Thunderbirds ahead of the 2019-20 season.

He played 56 games for the AHL's Colorado Eagles last season, netting 42 points (16 G, 26A.)

Though he has yet to crack the Avalanche lineup, a 46 point defenseman certainly helps Colorado with their depth.

MacDonald has seen two NHL call ups in his career, both in the 2018-19 season when he was recalled to join the Florida Panthers lineup. He's potted 1 goal at the NHL level.
