DeBrusk no longer interested in trade from Bruins

After reportedly requesting a trade back in November, Jake DeBrusk has let the Boston Bruins know his trade request has been rescinded.

This news comes from TSN's Ryan Rishaug, who claims that DeBrusk's agent in Rick Valette spoke with general manager Don Sweeney last week. It is believed that due to an elevated role on the team, paired with the firing of Cassidy, DeBrusk is now happy to stay with the organization who selected him with the 14th overall pick at the 2015 draft.

DeBrusk, 25, has had an up and down career to this point. That said, his 2021-22 season, particularly in the latter half, showed a lot of promise. In 77 games, he finished with 25 goals and 42 points. Perhaps with a new coach behind the bench in Jim Montgomery those totals can increase even further in 2022-23, assuming he does indeed remain with the Bruins.
