Peter Deboer Signing Imminent per Insider Elliotte Friedman
On the Jeff Marek Show, Elliotte Friedman reports that Peter Deboer, barring any major shifts, will land a head coaching gig sooner than later. He claims the Dallas Stars will tap him as their next head coach, weeks after declaring Rick Bowness won't return behind their bench:
Deboer would be an interesting fit in Dallas. Notoriously, the Stars have trouble scoring but are littered with young talent such as Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, & Miro Heiskanen. The rest of the roster has been subject to criticism. After exceeding the expectation of most & taking the Calgary Flames to seven games, many suspected the Stars would enter a 're-tooling phase.' However, should they hire Deboer that would dispel those suspicions in a hurry; he isn't a guy you hire if you're not actively trying to win.
