The Boston Bruins announced on Monday that they've agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth $2.275 million ($1.13 million AAV) with defenceman Jakub Zboril.

Zboril, 25, was selected by the Boston Bruins in the first round (13th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He was the first of back-to-back-to-back picks the Bruins had in the first round as they selected Jake DeBrusk and Zach Senyshyn after him.

The Brno native only appeared in ten games this season with the Bruins because he tore his ACL on December 2nd against the Nashville Predators. He underwent surgery not long after and was deemed out for the remainder of the season. In those ten games, Zboril had three assists, four penalty minutes and was a plus-one.

The Bruins also announced that they've signed 2019 first round pick Johnny Beecher to a three-year, entry-level contract worth $2.775 million ($925,000 AAV).

Beecher, 21, spent the 2021-22 season in the NCAA with the University of Michigan where he tallied fifteen points (six goals, nine assists), 41 penalty minutes and was a plus-three in 34 games.

At the conclusion of his season in Michigan, Beecher signed an amateur tryout contract in the AHL with the Providence Bruins. In nine games with Providence, he had five points (three goals, two assists) and was a minus-seven.
