The Dallas Stars are adding a bit of depth to their forward group. According to Kevin Weekes of ESPN, the Dallas Stars are signing Michael Raffl to a one-year contract worth $1.1 million.

"From what I'm told, hearing F Michael Raffl is signing a 1 Yr 1.1 M Deal with the @DallasStars." Weekes said in a tweet on Thursday morning.

Raffl, 32, spent the 2020-21 season with three different teams. Prior to the NHL season starting, he played with his hometown team, Villacher SV in Austria. In December he returned to Philadelphia where he began the year, before being traded to the Washington Capitals on Trade Deadline Day. In 44 games between the Flyers and Capitals, Raffl had 11 points (4 G, 7 A), 33 penalty minutes, and was a -4.

Raffl joins Luke Glendening, Braden Holtby, and Ryan Suter who have all signed with the Dallas Stars within the last 24 hours or so.

**Update on the UFA front in Dallas, the Stars have also locked up defenseman Jani Hakanpaa for 3 years at $1.5M per season. According to DFO's Frank Seravalli, there was a bidding war on Hakanpaa with several teams coveting him highly, but ultimately the player elected to sign in Dallas to play with countryman Miro Heiskanen, Esa Lindell, Joel Kiviranta and Roope Hintz.**
