The first round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft took place virtually on Friday night from the NHL Network studios in New Jersey. It's a day many of these prospects have looked forward to ever since they started playing hockey, and for some of them, their dream will come true tonight. Let's take a look at the top 10 picks from the first round.

1. Buffalo Sabres: Owen Power - Defence (U of Michigan - NCAA)

2. Seattle Kraken: Matthew Beniers - Center (U of Michigan - NCAA)

3. Anaheim Ducks: Mason McTavish - Center (EHC Olten - SL)

5. Columbus Blue Jackets: Kent Johnson - Center (U of Michigan - NCAA)

6. Detroit Red Wings: Simon Edvinsson - Defence (Frolunda HC - SHL)

7. San Jose Sharks: William Eklund - Left Wing - (Djurgarden IF - SHL)

8. Los Angeles Kings: Brandt Clarke - Defence - (HC Nove Zamky - Slovakia)

9. Arizona Coyotes: Dylan Guenther - Right Wing - (Edmonton Oil Kings - WHL)
