The allegations of a player being sexually assaulted by former Chicago Blackhawks video coach Brad Aldrich have taken another twist after the lawsuit from the player was amended to include allegations of being threatened with a baseball bat. The latest additions filed in court details an alleged incident in May of 2010 when Aldrich is said to have turned on pornography at his apartment while the player was there to get advice on his on-ice performance. The documents state Aldrich started to masturbate in front of the player, at which point, he tried to leave and was threatened with a baseball bat. Here are the amended versions of the documents as shared by Chicago Sun-Times reporter Ben Pope.

The amended documents state that for years after the abuse, the anonymous player was subjected to homophobic and "humiliating trash talking by his teammates during scrimmages where coaches were present." They also allege Aldrich "repeatedly invited young interns" working for the Blackhawks "to his private apartment" before the alleged sexual assault, and that Hawks employees "were aware of this behavior and found it to be quite unusual."

Former Blackhawks assistant coach John Torchetti told TSN in June that team management met to discuss the allegations back in 2010 but it was never brought to the police. Alrich left the Hawks in 2011 and is now a registered sex offender in the state of Michigan after an incident involving high school hockey player. That former player is also suing the Chicago Blackhawks for allegedly giving Aldrich a letter of recommendation when he left the team.

This whole situation and how it was seemingly handled has become a major issue for Chicago and the NHL as a whole. Because the case is currently before the courts, no one from the league is willing to discuss it in detail.
