The Philadelphia Flyers have kicked off their offseason by announcing a pair of signings on Monday, starting with 2016 1st round draft pick German Rubtsov (22nd overall).

Rubtsov spent the 2020-21 season on loan in the KHL skating with HK Sochi, recording 3 goals and amassing 11 points in 46 games this season.

The 22-year-old skated in 4 games for the Flyers back in 2019-20 after spending the majority of the season with the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms, where he tallied 13 points in 42 games. However, he was held pointless in his first four NHL appearances.

The Flyers also came to terms with forward Linus Sandin, who spent the bulk of the last two seasons with HV71 Jonkoping in Sweden before coming over to North America to finish this season with Lehigh Valley in the AHL.

Sandin, 25, is the elder brother of Toronto Maple Leafs defensive prospect Rasmus Sandin and went undrafted, playing his entire career in the SHL prior to coming over to North America last season.

The Swedish winger has accumulated 42 goals and 34 assists for 76 points across 163 games in Sweden's top men's league.

Per Flyers GM and President of Hockey Operations Chuck Fletcher, both have been signed to one-year, two-way deals worth $750,000.
