BRIND'AMOUR REVEALS WHAT HE TOLD VASILEVSKIY WITH THE FINGER IN HIS CHEST IN HANDSHAKE LINE

Following a tough loss at the hands of the defending Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour shared an intense moment with Bolts netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy during the handshake line.

Brind'Amour was spotted having a verbal exchange with the former Vezina Trophy winner, which included several vigorous chest pokes on the Russian netminder from the always fiery coach.

While we didn't know exactly what was said at the time, Vasilevskiy's reaction to the exchange wasn't indicative of a confrontation, but rather one of gratitude, so we had assumed it was all positive.

Late Tueaday, NHL.com's Tracey Myers reported what Brind'Amour was spotted telling Vasilevskiy in the handshake line - and the Canes head coach was very complimentary of the 26-year-old netminder.

"I've been around a long time, that's kind of what I said," Brind'Amour began. "I've seen a lot of goalies who are good, but he's as good as anyone that I've ever seen. I go back to Dominik Hasek, in how he affects the team, the way they can play, and that's kind of what I told him and it's true."

Very high praise from Brind'Amour, comparing Vasilevskiy to one of the greatest of all-time this early into his career.

"I mean, he makes it look easy. Dominik Hasek made it look hard, you know? (Vasilevskiy) makes it look easy. We had a lot of great looks tonight, and they looked like nothing because he's in the right place, or whatever, and that's what I told him," Brind'Amour concluded.

The Hurricanes were among the top teams in the NHL this season and were one of the favourites to win the Stanley Cup this year.

With the 2nd round victory, the Bolts now await the winner of the Islanders/Bruins series, which could resolve as early as Wednesday with an Isles win, as they lead the series 3-2.
