The Florida Panthers will make a major lineup change heading into Game 2, as head coach Joel Quenneville announced Tuesday that
Chris Driedger will get the start over
Sergei Bobrovsky, who started Game 1.
This is the right call from Quenneville, though most fans were hoping Driedger would be in the net right from the get go. Instead, they went with Bobrovsky and while he made some big saves, he allowed five goals on 40 shots for just a .875 save percentage (SV%) in a 5-4 loss.
Driedger, 27, was the far superior of the two this season. In 23 games this season he put up a very impressive 2.07 goals against average (GAA) and a .927 SV% compared to Bobrovsky's 2.91 GAA and .906 SV%. The Panthers will look to even the series at one a piece tonight with Driedger in the crease.
