NHL PLAYERS, TWITTER REACT TO ANOTHER TOM WILSON OUTBURST

MAY 3, 2021  (23H49)      BRENNEN BEAUDIN
After Tom Wilson injured Artemi Panarin, body slamming him into the ice, the hockey world has been anything but silent. Insane, psycho, and zero respect are just some of the terms that are being thrown at the Wilson, whose reputation is only worsening with time.

A slow-mo video actually shows that Wilson pulled Panarin's hair, and then slammed his head into the ice. Just brutal for a sport that is trying to decrease the violence and ferocity of the game. Of course, everyone loves their big hits and exhilarating brawls, but this is over the top.

Mika Zibanejad was one of the first players to speak out against Wilson.

"I figured you should have some more respect for the game and for the players. I don't honestly know where to start. It's just zero respect. I don't know why I'm surprised, just horrible."

Rangers coach David Quinn also agreed with his star player that there is zero respect for what Wilson did.

"We all saw it. There are lines that can't be crossed in this game. Just zero respect."

Wilson was also deemed insane and a psychopath by multiple NHL analysts and Twitter faithful. In fact, some people were even calling for his arrest as a way to solve his brutal hockey tactics.

Then a video of him in the penalty box surfaced and did not help his case very much. You can just see it in his eyes that something is very off about him.

Some Twitter folks are coining a new term called the "Tom Wilson Hat Trick", which includes a goal, an assist, and a misconduct in the same game. That's one hell of a night for sure.

The Capitals went on to win the game 6-3, but extra discipline seems imminent for the Capitals enforcer. For what it's worth, Caps head coach Peter Laviolette said he saw nothing wrong.

"I thought it was just a scrum, like physical play. There was something going on, originally with the goalie and the jamming at the goalie and we had a bunch of players jump in there. Happens a lot," said Laviolette.

Meanwhile, the Rangers have already said that, with three games left in the season, Panarin likely won't return for any of them.
