The Ottawa Senators and defenceman
Victor Mete have avoided arbitration and have agreed to a one-year contract worth $1.2 million according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Mete, 23, started the 2020-21 season with the Montreal Canadiens before being claimed off waivers on April 12th by the Ottawa Senators. In 28 games, the Woodbridge, Ontario native had 5 points (1 G, 4 A), eight penalty minutes, and was a +8.
He'll likely land a spot on the Senators bottom pairing for the 2021-22 season, but will have have some competition in training camp with the additions of Nick Holden and Michael Del Zotto.
