The Boston Bruins have solidified their goaltending position for the 2021-22 season, signing former Buffalo Sabres goaltender Linus Ullmark to a four-year, $20 million deal with a cap hit of $5 million.

Ullmark, 27, has played in 117 career NHL games, all of which have come with the Sabres. Despite the team in front of him struggling, he has been quite impressive, particularly the past two seasons. During the 2020-21 campaign he played in just 20 games due to injury but when he was able to come back he was very solid with a 2.63 goals against average along with a .917 save percentage and a 9-6-3 record.

While Ullmark has been a lone bright spot for the Sabres in recent years, this is still a pretty big risk by the Bruins given the fact he is not proven whatsoever. It also makes it interesting to see what will happen with Tuukka Rask moving forward, as the 34-year-old recently had hip surgery and is expected to be out until January but is also still without a contract.
