Since arriving in the NHL, Evander Kane has been no stranger to controversy, and has often been a player who is not the most beloved by his teammates.

Since arriving in San Jose, reports of problems with teammates had died down, though he was involved in numerous other controversies, the main one being filing bankruptcy due to major gambling debts. However, it appears there have been problems with teammates as well. According to an article posted by Frank Seravalli, who now works with Daily Faceoff, numerous teammates told general manager Doug Wilson that there was built up friction between them and Kane, something that could result in some change in the near future.

"Doug Wilson is navigating choppy waters in the Bay Area," wrote Seravalli. "Sources indicate significant friction built up between Kane and a number of his teammates last season, frustration that was expressed clearly to management in exit interviews."

The problem, as Seravalli noted, is that Kane was by far the most productive Shark this season with 22 goals and 49 points in 56 games. On top of that, he also has four seasons remaining on his contract that carries a $7 million cap hit. Given his well-documented issues over the years, it would be pretty tough to get a team to take him in. There is no denying how great of a player he is, but these issues seem to follow him everywhere he goes.
