Per The Athletic's Kevin Kurz, the San Jose Sharks have signed forward Jonathan Dahlen to a one-year, one-way contract for the 2021-22 season.

Dahlen, 23, was originally drafted with the 42nd overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators. Shortly after, he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks in a deal that saw Alex Burrows headed the other way. He played parts of two seasons in the AHL with the Utica Comets but was unable to find much success, and as a result was traded to the Sharks.

Since being acquired by the Sharks, he has spent the past two seasons playing in the Allsvenskan, which is the second highest league in Sweden. He had an incredible season playing for Timra IK, scoring 25 goals and 71 points in just 45 games. It will be interesting to see how he is able to transition back to the North American style of game now that he is older.
