With the Boston Bruins' season having recently been ended by the New York Islanders, they face a ton of questions this offseason with multiple pending unrestricted free agents (UFAs).

One of those UFAs is Taylor Hall, who they acquired at the trade deadline from the Buffalo Sabres. The trade revitalized the former Hart Trophy winner, as he registered an impressive eight goals and 14 points in 16 games to close out the regular season. The 29-year-old has said recently that he isn't worried about money going forward, but would like to find the best fit for himself, all while stating how much he loved playing in Boston. Speaking on Monday afternoon, Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy said he believes that Hall signing an extension with the team would be very beneficial for his career.

«I think the benefit of being here for the full season would be just to watch how hard a guy like Brad Marchand practices and plays every day of the season,» Cassidy said. «Brad will take his occasional maintenance day, but other than that, when he's on the ice it's 100 percent. Competing against whoever in practice, second effort in the games.

«I think that can only help a player like Taylor that is a little further ahead and has been through some of that and has had some seasons like ‘Marchy' where he's an elite player and if he's going to get back to that level, I think watching Marchy every day will be a huge benefit for him.»

Hall, who was taken first overall back at the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, has played in 680 career NHL games, registering 228 goals and 596 points. Outside of this year's Bruins team, he has never played for a contender before, so it wouldn't come as a surprise at all to see him take a discount and remain in Boston.
