The Maple Leafs lead the way in a very, very bizarre study

If someone asked you what you think the number one sports team logo that people have tattooed on their bodies, what would you guess? The Dallas Cowboys? Maybe the New York Yankees? How about the Chicago Bulls?

Well, according to gamblingdotcom's recent study, the answer is actual an NHL hockey team's logo. Are you ready for this one? It's the Toronto Maple Leafs.

With the cavernous gap between the success of the NFL, MLB and NBA over the NHL in terms of viewership and revenues, I would have assumed that the top tattooed team logo would have probably been an NFL logo, but per the study, the Leafs edged out the Denver Broncos by almost 2000 tats!

While this is just one study, there is also a decent amount of supporting evidence in that the Leafs also sat sixth overall based on search volume, which means a lot of folks have been doing their homework to see what it looks like on their skin.

Of the teams who ranked ahead of the Leafs based on search volume, 4 are NFL teams and one is an NBA team; The Dallas Cowboys (1), Buffalo Bills (2), Chicago Bulls (3), Chicago Bears (4) and Philadelphia Eagles (5). Apparently the Leafs were the only NHL team to break into the top 20, with the Boston Bruins sitting just outside at #23.

After the prolonged suffering that Leafs Nation has endured, I'm sure they'll take just about any win they can get at this point. You can say whatever you want about Leafs fans, but the one thing you can't do is question the undying loyalty of their fans, who are apparently not shy about permanently inking their team's logo on their skin. Now THAT'S commitment.
