15-year-old Connor Bedard destroying records at U18

Connor Bedard, who has had plenty of hype surrounding him over the past year, is making history at the IIHF U18 tournament.

The 15-year-old phenom is just one of 19 players his age to ever to appear in the tournament, and is performing much better than any we have seen in the past. Given that he and his teammates are headed to the gold medal game, he will become the first ever 15-year-old to win a medal at the tournament, with the previous best finish being both John Tavares for Team Canada as well as Andrei Vasilevskiy for Team Russia who both came in fourth.

Even more impressive is that Bedard is destroying the scoring records for a player of his age at the tournament. The previous best was Tavares who had five points. Bedard already has 12 and will be looking for more in his final game. While he is still very young, he has future NHL superstar written all over him. Last year, he became the first player to ever be granted exceptional status in the WHL, meaning he could play a year early. It was certainly the right decision by the league, as he had been tearing it up with the Regina Pats before leaving for U18's with 12 goals and 28 points in just 15 games. The future is very bright for this young star.
