There's no denying that the Arizona Coyotes have had their fair share of bad PR in 2020, first with the Combine Testing violations, followed by a messy break-up with former GM John Chayka. Now, we're hearing that the organization has failed to live up to expectations when it comes to paying out signing bonuses.
Per The Athletic's Katie Strang, multiple sources close to the Coyotes are reporting that the organization has been late on paying several players' signing bonuses, per the stipulations in their contracts.
It's no secret that the Coyotes organization is not one that is considered a financial powerhouse, but with new owner Alex Meruelo stepping in this year with a promise of providing more stability for the franchise, this certainly does not look good.

Strang did go on to mention that all outstanding bonuses have since been paid, but the fact that the organization failed to live up to these contractual obligations on time is less than ideal, to say the least.
Apparently team captain
Oliver Ekman-Larsson was among those affected by the little payroll stumble. Ekman-Larsson was owed $4M on Sept 1st.
